Hashd al-Shaabi was established by the Fatwa of Jihad Marjayat of Najaf after the arrival of the ISIS terrorist group in Iraq. Instead of honoring this group, after their sacrifices in the fight against ISIS, some satellite channels distorted the real image of this group in front of the public opinion of the Iraqi society. In particular, “UTV” network and specifically, through “Al-Haq Yoqal” program, has tried to damage the reputation of this popular group in different regions of the country. This research aims to answer this question: How is the representation of the image of Hashd Shaabi in “UTV” and in “Al-Haq Yoqal” program? By studying and reviewing the sources, the researcher reached the results, the most important of which are: This research is one of the few semiotic studies in the field of image representation of a media issue, because this issue is a post-structural school and the founder of that theory this is John Fisk. Based on this theory, the researcher investigated twenty-five episodes of the desired program. Eight of them were dialogue-oriented films, ten were report-oriented, and the remaining seven were related to a part of the introduction. Then, by analyzing these parts, the researcher reached important results, such as: among the morals of an Islamic society and social custom, standing by the defenders of the country and people, protecting the land and honor, and defending the right. Even with one word. And this is what the researcher came to after examining the parts of this program, and that the opposing channels, including the “UTV” satellite channel, have policies that may be in conflict with national interests, and the decision makers They should consider such programs with necessary measures
