Existentialism has gone beyond being a mere philosophical current with its principles and foundations on which it is based. Rather, it has evolved into a lifestyle that imbues the life of its affiliate with a special character that appears in its daily details, whether in terms of ideas, work style, principles and values. Existential philosophy came to represent the reaction of thinkers to the harbingers of the Second World War and the accompanying killing, displacement, misery and a deteriorating economic situation, as it sought to extricate man from this abysmal reality by denying reality, and rejecting it altogether and in detail to give free rein to thinking to transfer man on the level of the subconscious state to Other worlds away from this misery. The main point of existential philosophy is the focus on human freedom and independence, as he is free as much as he can paint his existence in a special color that distinguishes him from others. Existential philosophy has been reflected on the arts of modernity in general, and this study dealt with a study (representations of existential thought in the arts of modernity, the sculptor Alberto Giacco Mitti as a model), where the study included four chapters. The first chapter deals with the concepts and faculties of research, represented by the research problem, which was manifested through a problematic question, which is whether the arts of modernity and its aftermath were affected by this current and how? What are the reasons that led to this trend being strongly represented in the works of contemporary sculpture? The first chapter also includes the importance, purpose and research questions as well as tribalism and postulates and the research method, and the limits of the current research were limited to stating the views of existential philosophers based on their own elements and characteristics, and working to determine the effects and works of Alberto Giacometti and his influence on sculptors and other ideas, which refer to the actual model of research, which was embodied a lot. In the plastic arts, the terms are defined. The second chapter included the theoretical framework and previous studies, which included two sections, the first topic: existential philosophy, its concept, its references, and premises. While the third chapter contains the research procedures that included the research methodology and procedures, the research community and the research sample, which amounted to (14) samples. The fourth chapter included the results of the study, which included indicators, conclusions and recommendations, and for the foregoing, this study sought to investigate its effects on the art of sculpture in this period by studying its representations in the works of the sculptor Alberto Giacometti, who is one of its most important representatives. The results of the analytical study concluded that representations of existential philosophy appeared in most of Giacometti’s work through his focus on freedom, and his embodiment of the concept of human existence, as it appeared through his embodiment of the principle of existential choice, anxiety and alienation.
