“Translation of “Adab al-Falasefe”, with an Analytical Introduction”

Hannayn Ibn Ishaq, named after Abu Zayd, was a Nestorian physician and narrator, and the most important interpreter of Greek works in Arabic and Syriac in the third century. The most famous of Hannay Ibn Ishaq is due to scientific translations of medicine from Greek to Arabic and Syriac in the golden age, in the Abbasid Caliphate. He translated a lot of works, one of the most important of them in the field of wisdom, “Adab al-Falasafeh” in which he translated Greek words into Arabic. His translation of his translators prior to him is a significant difference; his translation method introduces a translation of meaning to literal translations and considered this method more correct. Also, his translations are required only in mathematical sciences that are not specialized in the translator and in the fields of medicine, logic; natural sciences and theology are accurate and reliable. He has trained so many students in the field of translation. The present paper seeks to address the status of the translation movement and its formation in the Islamic world. In the sequel to the life of Hannayn Ibn Ishaq, its works and within the text of the Book of Adolescents, we present the translation of the book of the Philosophers.
