In his study entitled Analyzing the Critical Discourse in the Poetry of Talib Abdul Aziz in the Light of Fairclough Theory, the researcher aims to reveal the stylistics of persuasion in the critical discourse – in language, philosophy and rhetoric – of the poet Talib Abdul Aziz, in an attempt to invest this concept and its mechanisms in forming the phrase that justifies the judgment or opinion. Critical after confronting the realized discourse, and the research on the poet’s critical discourse falls within the framework of Fairclough’s theory, which includes the three levels: The first level: the descriptive form, in which it reveals the relationship between the words, the language used, and the social structures in facing the realities of society and the lethargy that afflicts it, and the call for its liberation from the bondage of illusion. The second level: the interactive, in which it reveals the extent of interaction between the authority of the text through the purposeful poem and the text of authority that directs society according to what this authority wants to achieve personal gains. The third level: the hypothetical influence, in which the discourse is analyzed in order to show that the authoritarian text plays a role in inequality, injustice and oppression in society, while the poet’s rhetorical text aims to spread awareness of the use of language in society, including the call for change according to the results of the hypothetical analysis of the rhetorical text and knowing the extent its effect. In his study, the researcher relied on the analytical descriptive approach of the speech of the poet Talib Abdel Aziz, in what resembles a confession distributed in thirty-two poems, about his women, his lawful and his forbidden, and the Basrawi woman, the beloved, the charming, the charming, the charismatic, the devout, in an amazing fulfillment at a time when treachery and betrayal are common. The researcher reached the following results:
– The poet did not require a specific critical method to be read in his speech, for his book with what it contains is a record from his memory with women with the city with the Iraqi man who is rebellious against religious and tribal discourse – explained by the measurement of some and their financial, material and authoritarian interests.
– The poet writes with his nails the Iraqi present and the visual as a clear, frank, courageous, true, non-fake confession for himself and others, as he is heading to a society in which the Iraqi scene lives and interacts with it in a renewed knowledge uprising.
– Whoever reads the poet’s texts either increases his admiration for their performance and sensitivity, or angers some who did not brew from their meanings, as he did not search for success for himself and did not choose his text for someone, but rather presented his speech to generations open to a globalization that is not guaranteed vision.
– The poet Talib Abdul Aziz started from the reality of Iraq in formulating his critical discourse, directing sharp criticism to the political authority. The poet wants from the words in which he composed his speech to influence the hearts of the recipients, whether they are citizens or officials, about his description of corruption and its consequences at all levels and the impact it leaves on the homeland and the citizen.
