One of the dimensions of human history is social history in which instead of dealing with the life of rulers and the rise and fall of governments, the life of the masses is studied and issues such as customs, movements and social events are studied. In other words, in social history, the intellectual and moral tendencies, lifestyles, beliefs, customs and traditions of the masses of the people are dealt with and the rules, rules and criteria of social history should be sought in its historical origin. And its differences with other types of historical studies are in its social nature.
Shiite studies and the study of the social history of Shiites have little history. In the new era, this trend of social research about Shiites has been considered by some scholars, but the social history of Shiites in the time of Imams (PBUH) has received less attention and the era of Imamate of Imam Hadi (PBUH) including These are periods that, despite their importance, have not been addressed.
During the Imamate of Imam Hadi (as), considering all the political, economic and social issues and problems, the Shiites in the Islamic society of that time were scattered in different regions and the works related to this period were often introduced by Imam (as). Has paid less attention to the currents around the Shiites and the Shiite community, while in the social history of the masses and the events and happenings around them, lifestyles, mirrors and beliefs, inter-religious and extra-religious relations are discussed. The involvement and role of ordinary people in history is presented under the title of social history, and looking at these events from the perspective of Imam’s followers reveals new angles.
Some of the components of the social history of the Shiites of the time of Imam Ali ibn Muhammad al-Hadi (as) that are discussed in this study are: geography of residence, Shiite families, mirrors, beliefs, lifestyle, emergence and The manifestation of devotion and love for the Ahl al-Bayt (PBUH) in the individual and social life of Shiites, inter-religious and inter-religious relations (Shiite sect and Sunni sect), Shiite institutions and organizations such as the Advocacy Organization and scientific fields; Knowing these matters and expressing the angles of Shiite life makes the necessity of this research clearer.
