The study aimed and focused on identifying the role of social networking sites “Facebook” and the political influence on users، and the user becomes through it more interactive، and practicing political activities freely in a vast space without restrictions. Hence، we can say that the social networks “Facebook” made a unique transition and leap، not only in the framework of communication between groups and individuals، but also exceeded that، according to many specialists and observers، to form one of the most important tools of political media through the presentation of political issues. The users’ aspirations and their political orientations also touch on the calls for participation in the protests and demonstrations supporting and opposing the government and influencing public opinion، and it has become one of the factors of political change، both societal and globally، that is neither restricted nor limited by borders.

It is clear from the above that the study aimed to find out the answer to the following question: What is the role of Facebook in influencing the political scene in Iraq? Where the research used the method of qualitative data analysis and interviews with experts one of the most important findings of the researcher is that Facebook greatly affects political trends، and it is the first site among the communication sites in influencing political participation. As for the most important recommendations، the researcher recommends:

Although Facebook is a website that contributes to political orientation، it should be used in the interest of the people and improving reality، and not for partisan and personal purposes.
