Ethnographic documentary film is considered one of the most important media forms that take its material from the realities of life, whether by directly reporting the event, or by reconfiguring it close to the truth, and this is what the two brothers brought, as he did not consider them when they shot the first movie in history.
The emergence of film at the end of the eighteenth century created a new language, which is the language of the image that expressed the issues and problems of society, and the beginnings of the picture were based on recording natural appearances and documenting life as it is in nature, and with the passage of time the concept of ethnographic documentary evolved, until it became a science to study And it is taught in the most prestigious international universities, based in its basic buildings on the sciences of anthropology and ethnography, its masterpieces and sponsors, and complemented by the elements of the cinematic and television picture language. Or primitive tribes with precision, from language, customs, traditions, decrees, rituals, social structure, and even tribal conflicts between them, as these societies live in isolated places and regions of this vast universe, and do not know the simplest computer terms and knowledge that revolves around them. Globalization, and informational, this type of film has its own approach away from the aspect of entertainment, which made it suffer from The problems of lack of funding that reduced its presence in the media field, but today the matter has changed, many countries, institutions and satellite channels have become aware of the role of this film in building societies, especially after the form of dealing with it has changed and not being limited to the propaganda side and its move to strengthening cultural and intellectual aspects This approach has created a new space for ethnographic film to deal with the truth, and then the process of building it develops according to new narrative mechanisms that depend on the stylistic overlap between the two sciences of anthropology and ethnography.
This research is concerned with a new modernist issue that we have not heard or are familiar with before called the ethnographic documentary, and the attempt to uncover its impact on educating society and then learn about its artistic techniques through which we can dive into the social, cultural, ideological, artistic, and religious systems, their structures and their relationships The humanity of these societies.
