Our topic that we address in this study (the impact of social media on the upbringing of children in Babil Governorate (Facebook as a model)) is one of the most important topics at the media and cultural levels, as the upbringing and upbringing of the child is one of the basics of the formations of good societies, as the information revolution in which he lives The world at the present time represents one of the most important stages of the great historical scientific development in the history of humanity, as this information revolution has brought about major changes in the media industry and the patterns of information consumption and production, its dissemination and sharing of its contents. Information and communication technology on human life, which resulted in a radical transformation in the field of communication for them, which is the center of their lives. This technology has opened new avenues for them in communication, its means, methods and effects, negative and positive, and from this crystallized for us a major question which is (What is the impact of social media) Facebook) on the aspects of social upbringing of the child in the province of Babylon?), and the importance of studying in teaching children the correct religious education was evident, as they recommended Islam and the Messenger (peace be upon him), as childhood is the most fertile, the longest and the most important period in which the educator can inculcate the correct principles and the right direction in the spirit and behavior of his children. Social media (Facebook) on the upbringing of children in Babil Governorate, as well as clarifying the type of its negative and positive impact on Iraqi society in general and Babil Governorate in particular. Our study adopted the field survey method to extract field data from the sample represented by the parents of children using the Facebook program in Babil Governorate in the Republic of Iraq, where the number of the sample amounted to 350 persons from parents of children, and the study found the validity of its hypotheses which say that social media (Facebook) directly affects the upbringing of children in Babil Governorate, as well as the hypothesis that social media (Facebook) affects positively and negatively in upbringing Children in Babil Governorate, according to how it is used by children and the extent of its care by parents, and the study found that 50% of the sample members “agree” that Facebook has Positive effects on the child’s socialization, while 30% of the sample members “disagree” with it, and 20% of the sample members chose the “to some extent” option. As for the negative effects of Facebook on the child’s socialization, 60% of the sample members chose the “to some extent” option. To some extent”, while 30% chose the “I agree” option and 10% on the “I do not agree”.
