The title of this research tagged with the two structures of time and space in the novel The Obsession of the Lazy Man by the Iraqi writer Hamid Obaid Nasser. The researcher’s goal through this study is to reveal the temporal and spatial value of the novel, and the researcher used the descriptive analytical method in his study. The importance of this research stems from revealing the elements of the narrative structure in the novel, the most important of which are the two structures of time and space, as time and place in the literary work in general form a distinct and singular feature, relying on the systematic interrelationships formed by the narrator in the literary text. From the element of time by adding a simple flash to show the difference between the capabilities and the military and economic differences between the Iraqi soldier and the American soldier, and there was a time difference in the military development, according to the available data. Places in general had a clear and evident impact on the psyche of the novelists in terms of their relationship to the place, as he left an impression in them according to the characteristics of that place.. As for the main question: How did the novelist Hamid Obeid employ the elements of time and space in the novel The Obsession of the Lame Man?, where the novelist was able to employ time and space in an artistic and aesthetically effective narrative way that has an impact on the recipient, as he was able to adapt time in its external, historical, and realistic types, as well as The technical interior is based on anticipation, deletion, acceleration and rotation.The most important findings of the researcher are that the novel is more like a record of the history of Iraq extending from the withdrawal of forces from Kuwait to the Iraqi border, and the events of the popular uprising in 1991 AD, and The repressive period that the Iraqis lived through after them, until the fall of the tyrant in 2003 AD, and what happened after the entry of US forces. The diversity in the writer’s style, where he used the most important temporal paradoxes represented in anticipation and retrieval, and most of them were in terms of anticipation indicative of future expectations that are inevitable. The open places where events revolved in a noticeable and varied manner, depending on several Arab and foreign countries, such as: Iraq, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, Jordan, the United States of America, Russia, and these countries are incubators for their events, while closed places were the cause of the misery of many Iraqis. They were subjected to humiliation and insults represented in prisons, cells and torture rooms.
