The Rhetoric of Connection and Separation in the Poetry of Al-Mutanabbi

The phenomenon of connection and separation deserved to be studied in accordance with the principles of functional structural rhetorical grammar, with the circulation of the citizen of both “connection and separation. The choice of the poet Abu al-Tayyib al-Mutanabbi was adopted by the researcher to show the rhetorical behavior combined with “the modalities of communication, praise and pride, and the poet’s coherent poetry” by using the link and the separation by performing it in a way that shows their communicative function in the concept of meanings. The rhetoric studies were benefited from in the approach of multiple readings to the science of semantics for both rhetoricians and grammarians. The results of the study showed a comparison of the efforts of some rhetoricians with some grammarians in applying the rules of connection and separation to Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry, in order to know the extent to which the rhetorical rules are consistent in this context with Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry, and to know the extent of the validity of these rules within the books of the rhetoricians. Which settled the issues of the study problem. The rhetorical image of the poet Al-Mutanabbi was compared with the homeland of each science separately, to show the eloquence of the selection of his poetic verses within the decisions of the connecting places and the places of separation. The thesis was concluded by highlighting the conclusions of the recommendations of this theoretical and practical work in Al-Mutanabbi’s poetry and its reflection on my homeland Al-Wasl and Al-Sesl rhetorically.
