A study of the spiritual behavior of Martyr Motahhari And his relationship with the late Seyyed Hashem Mousavi Haddad and the late Allama Ayatollah Seyyed Mohammad Hossein Hosseini Tehrani

The present research is a descriptive study of Professor Shahid Motahari’s spiritual behaviors and his relationship with Seyyed Hashim Mosavi Haddad and Seyed Mohammad Hossein Hosseini Tehrani. Ayatollah Motahari who has benefited a lot from the heritage of Islamic mystics such as Mohi-ud-Din Ibn Arabi, Rumi, Hafez and Sadr al-Mutallahin Shirazi and others. he had a lost cause that he was looking for in the path of God-seeking. This important issue is so much evident in  his works and the accuracy in his abundant efforts during many years as a student of various moral and mystical professors And he did his best in  studying of the words of the informed. There are different practical schools in mysticism. But the mystical school of Najaf Ashraf, which started from Mullah Jula And it came to Mr. Ghazi Kabir and his real students, is the most complete school. In a way that it can be taught by everyone and those who are eager to know (Allah) can be guided to it.

The martyr philosopher (Motahhari) found his lost concept in the presence of the contemporary mystic Seyyed Hashem Haddad.

This matter is obvious from his own confession that Motahhari says; “this Sayyid is life-giving”. Martyr Motahhari’s spiritual communication  with Allameh Hosseini Tehrani Formed after Many Years of Familiarity and Friendship between these two divine servants of Allah and it continued till the end of their lives.

The way that  Master Shahid Motahari got acquainted with these  two divine mystics, (Haddad and Hosseini Tehrani ) and giving  his devotion to them, In the last decade of his life,  is very strange , special and perhaps unique. Martyr Motahhari was very impressed with Seyyed Hashem Haddad and on the other hand، seyyed Hashem Haddad was very interested in martyr Motahhari. To the extent  that after Motahhari’s martyrdom, Seyyed Hashem Haddad addressed Allameh Tehrani, why did you allow such a thing to happen?

During the eight years of spiritual communication between Shahid Motahhari and Allameh Tehrani, we can indicate to certain influences from Allameh Tehrani on  various aspects of Martyr Motahhari Such as the maturity of his works and the ardency in his writing and the change in the content of Shahid Motahari’s writings.

We can also indicate to Shahid Motahari’s consultation with Allameh Tehrani on various issues, including political issues and the Islamic Revolution. Participating in private meetings and learning special practices about Islamic prayers.
