The duality of reality and fantasy is a novel that is born based on the theory of creativity and is linked to this theory and relates to everything in it. On the other hand، literature is born of the reality and experiences in which the author has lived and with the help of the conditions which govern the world around him، with the difference that the author does not convey his reality objectively، but conveys those meanings in an imaginative way and picks them according to the nature of the literature. This is what prompted us to examine reality and fantasy (Ward Badr al-Salem) in his novel (Ozra Sinjar). This novel reflects the difficult conditions that the Yazidis have endured in the war against ISIS، and in this research، we seek to investigate and shed light on these facts in a descriptive-analytical manner. The importance of our research lies in explaining and presenting the most important content of that period. This research includes an introduction to the subject and three chapters، the first of which includes the introduction and biography of the author and research terms، and the second chapter examines the strategies of reality and fantasy. The third chapter deals with the method of presenting ideas from reality and fantasy. The research ends with a conclusion containing the most prominent results of the research، the most important of which is that reality and imagination are intertwined and can never be separated، and imagination is an introduction and a means of presenting reality.

Finally, the research ends with a general conclusion, including the most prominent results, including that reality and imagination are intertwined and cannot be separated in any way, and because imagination is a means of presenting reality. Another result of the
research is that reality has been the main pillar of the novel and is associated with almost all the events of the novel, and we do not find any events or incidents that are devoid of reality. In fact,  imagination represents the miraculous image of Azra Sinjar’s novel, in which the author recounts images of painful and strange events in the novel with artistic imagination and an amazing beauty that matches reality. Also, the way to merge reality with imagination, so that it is more attractive to the audience, is an important point in the
writing of this novel, because, in this novel, we clearly understand that imagination mixed with reality is a mixture of fantastic beauty and artistic splendor, and imaginative and dramatic images, from which the author begins and rises. In addition, imagination is a living and expressive image through which the author explains his ideas and
literary philosophy in the novel, in such a way that it brings art and an aesthetic image to the literary taste, and the writer has considered it a way to express tragedy in all its dimensions.
