Abi Tammam made every effort to use creativity, initiative, and innovation in the use of rhetorical artifacts and allegories. What is the benefit of the intellectual growth that the Abbasid poet achieved in the third century if the poet does not use new images in his poetry, such as those that Abi Tammam used in his poems? Perhaps the most important difference between the art and skill of Abi Tammam and other poters, in illustration be in this issue. In this research, we studied the virtual metaphors and puns in Abi Tammam’s poetry in a descriptive-analytical method, and we came to the conclusion that Abi Tammam has exaggerated the use of various rhetorical and allegorical artifacts in his poetry. The use of these artifacts in the Diwan of this great poet is not due to nature and spontaneity, but to the poet’s intention to decorate his poetic words through illustrations, puns, metaphors, etc. Poetry for our poet has become a painting full of different colors; he is interested in his work as much as he is interested in his unique imagination, his active mind, and the funny tone of his dialect. Abi Tammam did not stop at using verbal virtues, but went beyond them, and he resorted to the use of virtual images, similes, metaphors, and allegories in various forms. He also went beyond the familiar simplicity of Arabic poetry.
