Research idea: The Ottoman architecture in Istanbul represents a natural extension of the Ottoman architecture in Asia Minor (Anatolia), where many Ottoman architects, including Khair al-Din and Koca Mimar Sinan and others, participated in laying the foundations for building mosques and Ottoman schools, in addition to local engineers and architects, Especially in Istanbul, who played a prominent and important role in preserving and maintaining the architectural traditions of mosques and schools, and even developing and inventing new styles on them.

Our research, which is tagged with Ottoman mosques and schools, architecture and activity in Istanbul from the era of Suleiman the Magnificent to the era of Muhammad VI, is one of the topics of cultural, archaeological and historical interest. During the Ottoman era, mosques and schools passed through several stages of development, both in terms of their architectural planning or in terms of the vocabulary of that planning, architectural elements and inscriptions The writing and the various decorative, which we can limit to several styles we referred to in the study. Many Ottoman architects, including Khair al-Din and Koca Mimar Sinan and others, participated in laying the foundations for building mosques and schools, in addition to local engineers and architects, especially in Istanbul. , and who played a prominent and important role in preserving and maintaining the architectural traditions of mosques and schools, and even developing and inventing new styles on them.

Research Methodology: Our study is characterized by the historical descriptive approach, which presents the study in its historical image and applies the discovered urban events and monuments and studies them in an analytical manner. and carefully studied.

The result: the study concluded that the Ottomans had a great deal in the civilizational construction movement at the time, especially with regard to mosques and schools. The Ottoman sultans were like Sultan Suleiman the Magnificent and those who followed them to Sultan Mehmed II, who used the construction of mosques and schools as a symbol to establish their rule based on Islamic principles.
