The poetic image has witnessed a remarkable development throughout the ages, so it accompanied the renewal that affected the facilities of life in general, whether it was political, social, religious or cultural, especially since poetry gained a great status in the interest of the Arab man, so its references, methods and functions varied. This research came to reveal the secrets of the poetic image in the product of the poet Abbas Al-Ajeeli, who was distinguished by his sober style and realism in the  proposition. This is what instilled in the researcher himself to study it, as he is a modernist poet who preserves the sobriety of ancient Arabic poetry, and this is what the study revealed. The study reveals the references of the image and its sources that the poet drew and delves into these references that revealed to us the nature of these images and their effect on  boththe poet and the recipient. The study also reveals the rhetorical patterns that the poet bestowed with their use and the most important topics that he addressed.  The second: the recipient, especially that the poet has psychological, guiding, and imaginative feelings that made his poetic image a documentary document that leaves its impact on the recipient’s mind with depth and passion, and this is what the study proved in the poetic image of Abbas Al-Ajeeli.
