The financing of the political party means the set of methods adopted by the party in collecting funds to cover all its activities, whether they are electoral campaigns or others. The problem of financing political parties involves a complex network of variables, while the policies of party financing aim to reduce corruption and not misuse of money. The political party is keen to preserve the continuity of political parties and political competition.

Therefore, political finance is divided into public funding and private funding, and in turn, public funding is divided into direct and indirect funding. To ensure the achievement of the goals sought by political parties, political funding for parties must be legitimate, which cannot be optimally achieved unless there is control over funding. Whether it is internal control or external control.

The policies of financing political parties are a double-edged sword. They may be used to support political parties, but at the same time they may lead to negative effects on these institutions, which may affect political life in general and the extent of the role they play.

In Iraq, we find that the issue of financing political parties and the policies related to it are legislatively regulated in the Political Parties Law No. (36) of 2015 despite the many observations recorded on it, as well as the regulation of this issue in comparative legislation.
