This study, which is concerned with answering some of the orientalists’ suspicions that they raised about the authority of Imam Ali, is considered one of the important studies in Islamic history. The importance of this topic in responding to the suspicions raised against him (may God’s peace be upon him), and responding to them would give the true picture of the authority of Imam Ali (peace be upon him) and its connection with contemporary reality and the suspicions raised against him and against Islam, taking these previous suspicions as evidence and argument for them. Refuting it was enough to invalidate every call after that. The original question in this study is: What is the response to the historical suspicions of the Orientalists about the authority of Imam Ali (peace be upon him)? We mentioned some of the suspicions raised by orientalists, including what is about the personality of Imam Ali, and what is about the wars of Imam Ali, as well as suspicions about his succession (peace be upon him). They were answered through what the Orientalists wrote themselves, who were praising and supporting Imam Ali, and we showed the true image of Imam Ali’s succession and his right to the caliphate. That Imam Ali is the right person to succeed the Prophet and that he was able to lead the nation in accordance with the teachings of Islam, despite the temptations that occurred during his reign and the accompanying encroachments by Muawiyah’s army.
