The Jews lived in Iraq as they inhabited many other Islamic cities and countries, and in various cities and countries they had their own role and their impact on the Islamic society, both negatively and positively. In our investigation, we discuss their scientific and social role in Iraq, specifically during the first Abbasid rule, to see their role in the development that took place in scientific, social, political and economic issues at that time, and whether their role was positive or negative for the Islamic community. . After studying the historical books concerned with that particular period of time, we found that the role of the Jews in these scientific, social and economic advances was not an easy one. Rather, the Jews played an important role at that time and as a result of the openness of the Abbasid court to all religions in society, especially in Baghdad, the capital. The Jews engaged in seeking knowledge, so they wrote books on various sciences, translated modern sciences from Greece and elsewhere, established schools and scientific centers, and always had their scientific circles. This is in the field of their scientific role, but in terms of politics, things were not unified for and ruler, and they worked in great works, and even at some times they came to the palaces of the rulers and took important jobs in the Abbasid court, and at another time you see the ruler putting pressure on them. It allows them to be in comfort and convenience of their own. However, they the matter of the Jews was not an easy matter, as they took advantage of this opportunity of openness, so they began to work in trade, industry, agriculture, and others, and collected so much money that some Muslims were envious of them for their money.
