This M.A. thesis is a serious trial to enter the Iraqi prose poetry, its origin, modernization, pioneers, and writers. Before that we will discuss the structure and narration, then we will study analytically the poetry collection called (The Love According to Sumerian Calendar, of Abdul Adheem Finjan). The poet prefers to form his verses away from other poets’ method which is full of courtesy, meetings and platform; he is so quiet and likes to be alone, he didn’t even publish any collection of his poetry until he was acquainted with the real poetry image. He is too courageous in his description and believe that the poetry is still alive, he also didn’t use the poetry as propaganda, and we look at his verses we notice that they are summed up and full of love, thus, we knew that woman is a sacred creature to him, therefore he used many womanly myths (such as Anana and Ishtar). As for his poetry collection herewith, as if it has been written easily and difficulty in the same time, but one needs some experience to understand their elements. Finally, we notice that the poet has a great poetry imagination, and that was his secret of success especially when he use special compartments to show the truth in his verses. Our goal in this study is to produce the poet’s verses as an art formed by itself, and refer to those who accept it and those who refuse it, and its difference from other arts. As for the method we used, it is the analytic and descriptive method.
