Television programs and their role in promoting the values of citizenship among children and young people (An analytical study of the programs of the Iraqi channel)

Adolescence is one of the most important stages of life to teach concepts, knowledge and values in life because it stabilizes the child’s personality and proper training can create a reliable and strong personality in him. It is also at this stage that hard work, loyalty; patriotism must be taught and established in him. Today, the media is one of the most important and also the most dangerous tools available to children. The media is no longer a luxury item but a necessity and without it cannot live in the modern world. In fact, the media today has become a kind of stimulus and spreads and even determines trends and ideas among people.
The purpose of this study is to answer the main question, “What is the role of Al-Iraqi TV programs in raising the level of citizenship values among Iraqi adolescents and youth?” And explore and demonstrate this active role. The researcher’s method in this research is based on descriptive and analytical methods and to collect the required data, he designed a questionnaire and randomly distributed it among the statistical population (450) in Baghdad, out of 420 samples studied and Has been reviewed. (210) the form was for Rasafa and (210) the form was for people under 18 years of age. After analyzing the data, the following results have been obtained: The social and national values of being in Al-Arqiya TV programs are purposeful and have a positive effect on the psyche of adolescents. The thoughts and morals of Iraqi teenagers and young people change under the influence of the content of the programs shown on television networks. The use of new educational and cultural methods in the content of television programs causes changes in the way adolescents and young people speak and behave in interaction with others. Topics such as cooperation, friendship, helping others, showing emotions such as love, respect and kindness can be instilled in this adolescent and young audience through this program.
