The issue of “derivation” and “interpretation” is very important from the point of view of linguists, grammarians and jurists of the past and present, considering their destination and purpose in deriving different meanings for a Qur’anic word. This issue causes the meaning and concepts of the Qur’anic verses to change in more than one meaning and interpretation. “Derivation” is the main pillar of the language in the eyes of Arab speakers. The derivative is divided into many types. Among the most important ones are “minor derivation” or “general derivation”, “major derivation” or “heart”, “great derivation” or “Ibadal Laguhi”, “major derivation” or “naht” and “minor derivation” with the subcategory of derivation in The Quran is holy. These derivations have many meanings in the structure, which are different from each other based on the Qur’anic context in which the meaning is placed. The name “Rahman” appears 57 times in the Meccan and Madani surahs of the Quran. This name is mentioned in the interpretations of the predecessors and contemporaries and their words in the interpretation of this blessed name in the clear verses of the Holy Quran. Based on the interpretations of the Holy Quran, the name “Rahman” indicates the comprehensiveness of God’s mercy and kindness for all creatures. This name is general mercy for believers and unbelievers, and it has many meanings and characteristics in the Holy Qur’an that indicate the general mercy of God for all of God’s creatures. According to the interpretations, the name “Rahim” indicates the characteristic of God’s special mercy for believers, which is one of the most beautiful attributes of God. This blessed name is combined with the name “Rahman” in more than one verse of the Qur’an to indicate the inclusiveness of God’s mercy for all creatures, and this feature is only for believers. The name “Rahim” is associated with forgiveness and mercy on the Day of Resurrection and is reserved for the believers of this nation. In the book “Majmal Al-Lagha” it is stated that the name “Rahim” means special mercy for believers in this world and the hereafter.
