Arrogance, its Causes, and Ways to Deal with it (Based on Al-Mizan Interpretation)

In the dissertation entitled “Arrogance, Causes and Ways to Deal with It (Using the Teachings of Al-Mizan Interpretation)”, the researcher has made every effort to explain terms such as arrogance and conceit through the verses of the Qur’an, explaining their impact on human beings and extracting their meanings, as well as quoting the narrations of the Prophet and his family (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him).

In the Qur’an and narrations, expressions such as arrogance and things related to this trait are condemned. Among these is the hadith of Imam Ja’far Sadegh (as), who says: “The foundations of disbelief are three things: greed, arrogance, and jealousy.”

Also, contemplation on the fate of arrogant people and the end of their work in the world, who lose everything and go to the grave without any possessions, so that their bodies become prey to worms. This is the best lesson to get rid of this reprehensible trait and explain the meaning of arrogance, weakness, and conflict between them. In other words, between the arrogant and the oppressed and the conflict between them.

Arrogance has images and degrees, which appear according to the degree and position of the arrogant person. As Imam Ruhollah Khomeini (may God have mercy on him) said in this regard, “The oppressed have been with the prophets throughout history and they have defeated the arrogant.”

Also, the image that the Islamic world must take in order to save itself from this bitter reality, by focusing on creating a link between the past and the present and designing a coherent and integrated plan to meet the needs of contemporary life, realizing common interests, and creating solidarity between Islamic tribes, is achieved, because the enemies of Islam and the arrogant forces are trying to eradicate Islam, so that there is no name or trace of Islam in the world. Because Islam is the real enemy of arrogance, it confronts the rebellion and arrogance of the arrogant.
