This study dealt with an important aspect in Islamic history, which is the prohibition of the writing of hadiths, which occurred in the first and second centuries AH, especially after the migration of the greatest Messenger, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, to the supreme companion. advanced and late.

The objectives of the study are characterized by identifying the main reasons for prohibiting the recording of hadith in Islamic history, the fact that hadiths were prohibited in the era of the message and its causes, as well as identifying the fact that hadiths were prohibited during the era of the Caliphate and its causes, and the most prominent views of Shiite and Sunni scholars on preventing the writing of hadith.

As for the original question of the study, what are the historical reasons for prohibiting the writing of hadith and its consequences from the first to the third century?, and the original hypothesis on which the study is based is that the reasons for banning hadith varied in Islamic history, but the owners of prohibiting the writing of hadith mentioned that the reason for this is the fear of expanding The difference between Muslims and the fear of spreading unreported hadiths and fear of mixing hadiths with the Qur’an, but others argued that preventing the writing of hadiths was to limit the dissemination of the virtues of the Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, and for fear of the fame of the hadiths of the Messenger, may God bless him and his family, in the merits of Ali and his sons. Their imams, and one of the results of the ban was the large number of fabricated hadiths, the spread of Israelites, the distortion of religion, and the nation’s ignorance of its religion.

Among the findings of the study is that the most important reason for preventing the writing of hadith is to prevent the circulation of the virtues of Ahl al-Bayt, peace be upon them, among people. The greatest, may God’s prayers and peace be upon him and his family, and the approach of his family, peace be upon him, and therefore they tried to erase the hadith and to rely on the opinion based on the desires of the rulers and sultans and to replace their desires even if it contradicted the original Muhammadan Sharia.

Likewise, the prohibition had many harms, and the results were varied in the view of both groups. Among the results of prohibiting the writing of hadiths are the large number of fabricated hadiths, the spread of Israelites, the distortion of religion and the ignorance of the nation about its religion.

It should also be noted that our study was characterized by the descriptive and inductive approach to historical novels and events, as well as their scientific analysis, relying on books, manuscripts and documents.
