A comparative study of the miracles of the Qur’an, between the book of Ayatollah Marafet’s Talmhid and the book of Mu’tarek al-Aqran Siyuti

The miracle of the Holy Quran” is considered one of the most important and prominent issues and topics of the Quran that many advanced and contemporary Shia and Sunni scholars have addressed in the form of many studies and researches. Ayatollah Mohammad Hadi Marafet, the author of the book Al-Tamhid fi Uloom al-Qur’an and Jalal al-Din Siyuti, the author of the book Mu’tarek al-Aqran, are among the most prominent scholars in this field of science. The aim of this thesis is to unveil the nature of the miracles of the Holy Quran, relying on the descriptive-analytical method, focusing on explaining the views of these two great commentators. The main lines of the upcoming research are the comparison of the meanings and concepts of the miracles of the Holy Quran and its aspects and types of miracles in the two books of Talmahid and Mu’tarek al-Iqran. By carefully and reflecting on this issue, we have reached some results; including; both commentators have taken a similar approach in presenting the concept of miracle. Also, both of them have emphasized the miracle of the Qur’an’s vocabulary, expression and legislation. The difference of opinion between the two does not go beyond the limits of substantive and conceptual issues and judgments; For example, Siyuti considered issues such as destroyer and abrogated, the names of “Alam and the existence of some foreign names in the Qur’an among the miracles of the Qur’an, while this matter was not mentioned in the book of al-Tamhid.
