The Methods of individualization in the Poetry of Farooq Juwaideh (Indicative Study)

The method of specification (individualization) is regarded as one of the most important predicate ways in eloquence, hence, the eloquent (such as al-Sakkaki, al-Khateeb and al-Taftazani) agree that specification is divided into four main parts and they put a special chapter to it calling it (the ways of specification), also they are many ways for secondary specification related to the main one. The ways of specification are four: Negation, Exception, Rather and specification by a letter (no, but, however). Thus, specification is considered a precise and deep method related to fine phrases and remark. It is an art of speech that many eloquent submit to its attraction, but no one can reach that rank except the elite because of its difficulty and because it contains a lot of secrets and high features (such as brevity, exaggeration and inductive means). Specification method can also be seen in the poetry of many contemporary Arab poets and has been used precisely and in good manner. One of those poets who used such method is Farooq Juwaideh, an Egyptian poet who began to make vertical verse and theatre poetry. Many of his poems have been translated to different languages (English, French, Chinese and Yugoslav). This study deals with the specification method used by the mentioned poet in an inductive way, since induction is the science which studies the meaning and the formation of the phrases and linguistic symbols. The researcher tries to show the manners of specification in the poetry of the Arab contemporary poets and to focus on their usages. The study depended on the descriptive and analytic method with the assistance of many sources and references, since the analytic method is the best way to treat with such subjects. Through this study we can find that the poet could smartly use the specification method especially the manner of negation and exception, then he uses the article (rather) which has been the main article after the first one.
