This study aims to shed light on the media performance of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs and to identify the problems and obstacles that hinder media performance because the Ministry of Foreign Affairs has an influential role in drawing the country’s policy externally, as it is the state’s front and its window to the world, and it is the woman that reflects the image of Iraq.
This study relied on the analytical descriptive method in its method. As for the level of the research tool, the study used the interview tool, which is considered one of the most important qualitative research tools, as it provides the researcher a large space for the researcher to explore the opinion of the respondents.
The study problem included the following questions: What are the trends of the media elites towards the media performance of the Iraqi Ministry of Foreign Affairs?
This study found that the media performance of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs is tainted by many weaknesses and imbalances at the level of planning, organization and management, and is dominated by random nature as a result of the inaccurate selection of workers, as their selection is made through partisan, sectarian and nepotism quotas. In the media sector, where there is no specialized institute to refine their expertise and there are no development courses that develop their capabilities and draw a line for them to deal with the right external events, as well as the absence of initiative and innovation in media work, but rather it is routine and traditional. Among the findings of this study is the absence of a comprehensive vision in dealing with The refugee file and that the Foreign Ministry’s media is crisis media. Accordingly, this study recommends
Preparing a media strategy according to scientifically studied plans and programs according to the latest technologies and benefiting from global experiences, and that the selection of workers is based on experience, skill and acumen. Sober and senior journalists to Iraq to see the situation closely and convey a bright image of Iraq, and that dealing with the refugee file should be the size of the suffering they are exposed to, without discrimination between countries on a religious or political basis, as well as that the official and unofficial Iraqi satellite channels do not adopt a discourse that urges political tendencies Religious, racist and opposition to the tendencies of the Iraqi foreign and raises strife with the regional and neighboring countries of Iraq
