Praise be to God, Lord of the Worlds, and prayers and peace be upon the most honorable of the prophets and messengers, Muhammad, and upon his good, pure, venerable family, and after;

   This research, which bore the name “The Devil in Contemporary Interpretations of Shiites and Sunnis,” included four chapters:

The first chapter: Include an introduction to the research, which included a statement of the research, the original and subsidiary research questions, the research hypotheses and its importance, then the previous studies of the research, after which we mentioned the concepts related to the research such as: Satan in language and terminology, Satan in language and convention, Jinn in language and convention.

Chapter Two: The discussion in it was about the nature of Satan and his attributes, where we first talked about the nature of Satan through three demands: The first requirement is that Satan is from the jinn and we mentioned the evidence. Requirement The second is that Satan is one of the angels also with evidence. The third requirement is a corrupted king. Of course, all of this was with mentioning the Qur’anic and narrational evidence.

    Then they talked about the attributes of the Devil, and we mentioned five attributes: envy and disobedience, vanity and arrogance, accursed, rebellious, obsessive-mindedness with mentioning verses that pertain to each of these attributes.

    The third chapter: We talked in it about the faith of Satan and his disbelief in the Shiite and Sunni interpretations, where we first mentioned the faith of Satan in the Qur’anic verses, and we mentioned three verses as examples of verses that point to the belief of the Devil, and we mentioned the views of the commentators regarding these verses from the Shiite and Sunni schools. After that, we mentioned some of the narrations in which there is a hint of the faith of the Devil at the beginning of his creation.

Then we mentioned the infidelity of Satan in the Noble Qur’an, and we cited three honorable verses on this subject, and we also came with the interpretations that were received by the Shiite commentators and the Sunni commentators, and then we mentioned the narrations that talk about this matter.
