Ali Sami Nashar is one of the contemporary intellectuals Sunni scholars, who have several efforts to provide a true, scientific and Nonpartisan image of the Shi’a in his book,”Nasheat alfekr alfalsafi fi alislam”.  He emphasized on affection of Imam Ali and Ahl al Bayt (PBUH) and he has stated like as Imam Shafi’I: if love of Ahl al Bayt is heresy (Rafz) I am first heretic(Rafezi). But he could not reach to this goal because of historical and prevailing mentality towards Shi’a in Sunni world. Nashar has described Shiite, but instead of using Shi’a sources and comparing them with Sunni sources mainly has used unshiite sources. He has trusted in reports that are written by the opposition without careful analysis and critical look, thus he couldn’t completely understand the reality of Shi’a. He has some great mistakes in analysis of the Shi’a origins, introduction of Shi’a Imam and explanation of certain Shiite beliefs and Shi’a scholars view. Of course, this does not mean that he is totally wrong, but he openly has addressed truth in some cases, unlike many contemporary Sunni writers Sunni. Some of his thoughts and opinions are close to Shi’a beliefs, including the primacy of Imam Ali (PBUH) on Abu Bakr, Umar and Uthman in caliphate and virtue, commination of Abu Sufyan and Muawiyah, and severe hate to Bani Umayyad caliphs.
