Terrorists attack’s on the World Trade Center at September eleven and the military activities of Taliban, al-Qaeda and Daesh refreshs the doctrine of jihad again. And new analysis about this Islamic order published and spread on the press and Medias. This thesis is made up from four seasons, to explore further means of this doctrine, And to compare the views of the Islamic fundamentalist and traditionalist scholars about jihad. In this research, Sayyid Qutb assumed representative of fundamentalists and Seyyed Hossein Nasr assumed representative of traditionalists. Based on the findings, Sayyid Qutb, was an Egyptian teacher who specializes in Arab literature. He was influenced by Abul A’la Maududi, Abbas Akkad and Rashid Rida, and so he tent to Salafi thinking. Sayyid Qutb orientation in prison became Radykal, and counsels in his book “Maalem al tariq” to primitive and offensive jihad against the infidels and Islamic governments that are incompetent. Viewpoints of Sayed grown quickly between jihadists and Islamic militants, and many of his books, became teacher of Akhavan ol Moslemin, Taliban, al Qaeda and Daesh. He influenced by Ibn Taymiyyah, had more attention to political Islam that is exclusivist and wants to implement Islamic sharia by struggle of jihad in the world. In contrast, Seyyed Hossein Nasr is growing in a multicultural environment. And with the teachings of traditionalists who believe the nature pluralistic and more tolerant towards other traditions. Seyyed Hossein Nasr, as well as fundamentalists, opposed to the West and modernism. But his way in the fight against the West is returning to religious traditions, not an armed invasion. Nasr believe that authenticity in Islam is peace. And with respect to the verse of ” لا اکراه فی الدین” in Quran, annulled argument of people like Sayyid Qutb, that believed to offensive jihad. But he considers defensive jihad in Islam necessary by rational and traditional reasons. And believes that, if one barrier against Islam and the religion of Allah, should be defended in front of him. Seyyed Hossein Nasr influenced by inner trained of traditionalists, too much emphasis on jihad literally means, that means struggle for self-purification. And large volumes of his writings on jihad includes the greater jihad, the self-purification.
