“Review of Wahhabism on the view contemporary al-Asha`riyya”

Wahhabism is relatively a nascent Islamic sect.  Developing in Saudi Arabia, this denomination is spreading all over the Islamic world because of Strong political and economic support. Since the followers of Wahhabism think they are just right, other Islamic sects are Infidels, and out of Islam, the importance of studying the ideological principles of this School of thought appears. Knowing that al-Asha`riyya has the most followers among the Kalami denominations of Sunnis, they slam them after Shi’a in a way that the followers of Wahhabism have written many books against them. To study the history of Wahhabism and al-Asha`riyya and their similarities and differences, can be a step to criticize Wahhabism from the al-Asha`riyya’s point of view This dissertation attempts to study al-bouti’s views and Critiques about Wahhabism along with other Critiques including methodological, theological, and ideological onesaccording to the Asharite scholars.  New Asharite scholars play an important role in criticizing the Wahhabism because their critique against Muhammad ibn Abd al-Wahhab resulted in giving up of Wahhabism by some of its followers and modifications of their extremism. Al-Saghaf one of the Asharite scholars criticizes Wahhabism’s methodology and does not recognize its followers Tafsiri books because of not using reason in their religious books. He says,” Wahhabism does not accept reason lest a Muslim notices its errors by applying its ideas” In this paper, it is attempted to review Wahhabism from Sunni’s point of view and it is more effective because of religious unity between the two (Wahhabism, Ash’arites).
