One of the most important foundations of art is artistic creation. Two important traditions, mystic Ibn Arabi civilization in the East and the Schlegel brothers’ romantic tradition in European culture proposed theories in this field of study. This thesis wants to express, by using the library method, artistic creation from the perspective of two different schools of thought, Ibn Arabi (Narrated by Henry Corbin) and the Schlegel brothers. There are common features between Ibn Arabi’s Sufism and the Schlegel brothers in the theoretical foundations of art, particularly in artistic creation that can be pointed to some of them: Constantly becoming, a kind of inner illumination, mystical life originality, priority of imagination over intelligence, dynamic nature, the integration of human faculties, qualitative look to the world, the mystical look at the world, symbolic approach to the world. For both, work of art must offer the absolute and it is possible only through symbolic that work of art as a mediator and arbitrator reflects the artist’s intuitions from transcendent realm with a symbolic language. However, we must bear in mind that the modern soul prevailed in spiritual and mystical atmosphere of Romantics and Eastern mysticism with Western humanistic look was interpreted. This research approach to artistic creation can be an essential step in creating unity between the mystical tradition (Ibn Arabi) and the Romantics (Schlegel brothers) and it makes the light of wisdom of the East on the West.
