This thesis surveys the sources and textbooks of the Sunni seminary schools in the South of Iran that could be divided into jurisprudential, principal, doctrinal, Quranic, historical and Hadith ones. Jurisprudential textbooks have been written in accordance with Shafei School of Sunni Islam, though some signs of Salafi beliefs could be vividly traced therein as in the book called Umdat-ul-Ahkam. Similarly, the doctrinal books contain Salafi-Takfiri beliefs as well as introducing and admiring some top figures of the movement that could pave the way for Salafi thoughts to be spread in these schools. The source books on Quranic sciences also contain some elements of Salafi thought insulting, in some cases, the Shia as what we see in the book called Safvat-tut-Tafaseer, meanwhile, some of the books on Arabic literature being taught in these schools share in content with their counterparts in Shia seminary schools. Textbooks on History and Hadith taught in these schools have also been written according to traditional Sunni thought of the inhabitants of south Iran, some containing Salafi teachings as in Ghisas-ul-Anbia.
