One of the most important events that occurred in human history is Ashura. So many historians and Maghtāl writers have narrated this incident. The most important of these Maghtāls which exist today are: “Maghtāl-al-Hussein” of Abu-Mekhanf, “Lohoof”, “Masir al-Ahazan”, “Rowdah al-Shohada” and “Israr al-Shahadah”, each of them, considered to be the most famous and important one of their age and has been considered by the scholars as well as the public. This dissertation with respect to narratology and reviewing these five Maghtāls according to narratology, deals with the question of how can we analyze the types and elements of narration in the most important and famous Maghtāls? The results of the study of types and narrative elements in these five Maghtāls shows the extent of the commitment and efforts of the Maghtāl writers to the principles narratology of Narratology. Therefore, Their narration of the event shows significant differences in the use of narrative types, forms, and elements. In these Maghtāls, there are foundations, raw materials, and unheard narrations that their examination with narratology reveals other dimensions of the Maghtāls. Therefore, measuring the amount and quality of the differences between the application of these forms and elements in these Maghtāls can lay the grounds for deriving dramatic literature.
