The treatise “al-Mateleb al-Mohemmah Min Elm al-Hekmah” is one of the important treatises of Ibn Kammuna. As a prolific scholar he played an important role in the diffusion of new thought in the Middle East. Much of his legacy, contained in the form of commentaries, correspondence, and treatise still survives today and makes up part of the historical remnants of his time. Ibn Kammuna’s commentary on Shahab al-Din Suhrawardi’s Talwihat, the core text of Illuminationist philosophy is deemed as one of the most thorough examination of that branch of thought. The author has summarized his treatise in seven chapters, and each chapter in seven discussions. In fact, this treatise is a brief period of logic, naturalism and philosophy. This treatise, while correcting and writing an analytical introduction, has also been translated into Persian in accordance with the principles and rules of translation. The main subject of this dissertation is to write an introduction to its analysis and translation. Hence, the author makes every effort to provide a proper translation of the treatise.
