The unity and peaceful coexistence of the Muslim is among the concrete commands of Quran and the Household of the Prophet (P.B.U.T). But the malevolent activities and propagation of internal and external enemies of the Muslim world endangers their unity, by adding fuel to the disputes among them and threatening the principal strategy of proximity of Muslim denominations, as a result. Due to its diversity of religious cults and sects as well as being bordered by the Kurd-inhabited and Turk-inhabited regions of Iraq, Turkey and republic of Azerbayjan, the Iranian province of West Azarbayjan is a very strategic region in terms of Muslim unity. The necessity of implementing a survey on this issue is multiplied when one considers the evil plans of extremist Salafi-Takfiri partition-seeking groups who try to destabilize the region through fuelling sectarian disputes in line with the conspiracies of Israel and the United States. Thus, this thesis aims at surveying the whole racial, social, cultural and political capacities, challenges of the province of West Azarbayjan in the Recent Century and practical approaches towards the proximity of Muslim denominations there, in order to take a step to removing the obstacles on the way.
