Being titled as “Teachings of Practical Mysticism in the Works of Khwaju Kermani” the present thesis surveys the position of mystical states namely: Toubah, Vara, Zuhd, Faghr, Sabr, Tavakkul and Ridha, as well as Muraghibah, Ghurb, Muhabbah, Khawf, Ridja, Shawgh, Unss, Itminan, Mushahidah and Yagheen, in the works of Khwaju Kermani as one of the poets of Persian literature who lived during 13th century (A.H). Although he demised before the golden era of the fluence of mystical elememts and terms in the Persian literature, he influenced a lot the poets coming after him, especially Hafiz. As a result, there is a large gap of research on his contributions to mystical literature. The survey done in this research over his works shows that he has used an ironic language to criticize hypocratic way of life of some people of his then era who used to express themselves as pious and modest characters.
