The notion of reification offered by Lukucs first but before him Marx had been written about it in his writing. Of course his attention was more on the socio economical system but sometimes later the thinker of Frankfurter School use his notion referring to different system such as culture. Reification is a progress that changes the social nature of human being’s work to something fetichiste. We can obviously see the notion of reification in some modern filmmakers including forigner and Iranian artists, like in Sohrab Shahid Sales’s movies. Sohrab Shahid Sales was one of the filmmaker who has a great effect on the progress of New Wave Cinema in Iran. Shahid Sales has been known as the founder of Realism in Iranian Movies. We can see this characteristic in his subject as well as in his method. He has a critical attitude toward modern society, capitalist system and its consequences such as reification The purpose of this study which has both documentary and descriptive- ananlytical method is to explore how reification happens in the society and especially in the communication between the people in the Sohrab Shahid Sales’s works, such as A simple event, Still Life and In the Foreign country. Finally, by examining and analizing the films, it has been found a lot of similarities between what Frankfurt School thinks about reification and what could be seen in Shahid Sales’s films.
