The survey and analysis of moral virtue and evil has always been one of the most fundamental intellectual concerns for thinkers and scholars such that various philosophers from the ancient time in Greece and Rome to the Middle Ages and contemporary era as well as Islamic scholars have all had contemplations in this regard. Pardon as a virtue being associated with a wide range of good and evil acts has a special place in morality. This thesis aims to survey the essence of pardon from the view of Islamic morality with emphasis on the ideas of Muslim scholars in ethics. This study also addresses some other virtuous and evil acts associated with pardon as it is not possible to achieve a comprehensive grasp of knowledge of this subject per se regardless of other virtue and evil in ethics. Moreover, it is attempted to address some obstacles in the way of pardon in contrast with the contributing factors to this virtue and its range of effects. In addition to indicating major ethical implications of pardon, this study sought to provide an analytical view in this regard especially in the last chapter.
