In the works assigned to Imam Sajjad (PBUH), especially Al-Sahifaa Al-Sajjadiyyah, the various mystical teachings, especially their epistemological aspects and practical mystical journey are in particular attention. Imam Sajjad (PBUH) in Al-Sahifaa Al-Sajjadiyyah pointed to mystical journey and used terms such as travel, behavior and way.  His Holiness conditioned the mystical journey to several prerequisites that are divine grace, adherence to religious laws, prophetic tradition and guidance of a Perfect Master (that is, the innocent Imam (PBUH) or His authorized representative). In the works assigned to Imam Sajjad, eight behavioral rules (behavioral tools) can be identified: austerity, silence, thinking, invocation, reading the Quran, prayer, asceticism and meditation. In addition, Imam Sajjad (PBUH) pointed to practical obstacles, ranging from bright and dark barriers. According to the author’s research, fourteen mystical stages can be found and classified in the words of Imam Sajjad (PBUH). His Holiness mentioned that attaining knowledge and its categories (unity, manifestation and sainthood) are the results of mystical journey.
