One of the most important interpretive types in Christianity and Islam is the inner interpretation in which the interpreter seeks to understand the inner meaning of sacred text. The interpretation of Origen and Abdul Razzaq Kashani, both, are of an esoteric interpretation category whose main purpose is to reach the inner meaning of the sacred text which is hidden beyond the apparent meaning. The main hypothesis of the study is that the exegetical interpretation of Origen and Abdul Razzaq Kashani is a methodical and adheres to certain principles and rules. To prove this hypothesis, issues such as the theoretical framework of internal interpretation, interpretive foundations, and the interpretive method of Origen and Abdul Razzaq have been discussed in a comparative way. In this study, by examining the interpretation method of Origen and Abdul Razzaq, it has been proven that there are many similarities between the exegetical interpretation of these two interpreters, which also makes their interpretation suitable for comparative study. Finally, this research proves that, despite all similarities, the backgrounds on which they are interpreted are different; Origen’s inner interpretation is based on the premises of the Christian faith, and the extraction of the inner meanings of the holy text in the framework of the Christian faith has taken place. But Abdul Razzaq’s inner commentary is presented in an ephemeral and mystical form which, according to Abdul Razzaq, has been based on the Quran itself.
