Existential straight path in Ibn Arabi’s perspective and Quran description in Allameh Tabatabai’s and Ayatollah Javadi Ammoli’s point of view

The straight path is one of principle teaching of the Holy Quran which is only one path in the perspective of Allah the almighty. According to it, in Quranic literature, the straight path is divided into two sections “Existential and legislative”. Due to his comprehensive mercy, all his creatures are put on the straight path and they are moving forward based on that. In this literature existential straight path has three characteristics: “unchangeable, in commutable and inventible confrontation”, and the almighty Allah is close to all his creatures and dominates them all based on existential point of view. According to Quran, straight path is divided into two sections in mysticism, “existential, wayfaring”, each has its own nature and structures. In mysticism, existential straight path has been defined based on this verse in Quran” indeed, I have relied upon Allah, my lord and your lord, there is no creature but that he holds its forelock (I.e. controls it). Indeed, my lord is on a path [that is] straight. In this view, the Existential straight path is a single action that includes all of the Cosmic. To explain the Existential straight path, two things must be considered, Ontological and anthropological foundations in mysticism. Ibn Arabi explained Existential straight path from the perspective of the Prophet of Islam that is interpreted in the mysticism as “zoghe khatmi” which means unity and co- existence of essence. Hence, the existential journey, existential path , existential motion and extremity of existential motion are discussed. While Allameh Tabatabai and Ayatollah Javadi Ammoli express Existential straight path according to divinity so the words of these two commentators point to the stage of act, equipments and their role of effect.   Although it seems that the Existential straight path is in contrast with divine will, absolute, determination, free will and divine knowledge, it can be solved through transcendent unity of being in format of divine names, archetypes of the names with Existential lines or particular countenance. While Allameh Tabatabai and Ayatollah Javadi Ammoli have expressed mentioned topics with unicity In terms of divinity in format of absolute Ownership and divinity. In this thesis, firstly, the principle in mysticism is described such as pantheism and its branches like inherent, trait and divinity uniqueness and it is clarified that the straight path in understandable through the pantheism. Ibn Arabi had provided four reasons to confirm straight path, 1) existential closeness. 2) Absolute divinity 3) existential bliss 4) transformation (moving toward Allah and reaching to him).

Secondly, different sections of straight path in Quran are described and the proof of straight path in Allameh Tabatabai’s and Ayatollah Javadi Ammoli’s perspectives were mentioned in this thesis. Their proves of straight path in Quran includes absolute possession, moving of creatures toward Allah and Allah divinity. In conclusion, The basis of reasoning of Ibn Arabi’s in straight path are based on inherent uniqueness and Allameh Tabatabai’s and Ayatollah Javadi Ammoli’s reason is based on Allah divinity.
