This research is an Ijtehad discussion on the Ahl-albait’s traditions about “identity and existential dimensions of the mankind” and the main concentration is on inferring the main framework and anthropological schema in the traditions. Unity or multiplicity of the nature of human being is among important anthropological topics that we based on the the Qur’anic verses and traditions and also the conclusion we reached from the proposed views in this case, all human beings have a unit nature and a common character, on this basis we criticized the views of those who do not believe in unity of nature of human beings, with respect to the general sermons of the Quran and the Ahl-albait’s traditions. The subject of one-dimensionality or multidimensionality of the human being is one of the fundamental topics in this research. Based on Ahl-albait’s traditions and Quran’s verses, we searched and proved the combination of human being from two dimensions: the self (the soul) and the body. We also proposed traits of these two dimensions, considered the originality for the self. The Immaterialism or physicality of the self and body was important in this chapter, then we came to this conclusion that we cannot prove the Immaterialism or physicality of the self through the verses and traditions. The dimensions and aspects of the self with regard to its originality, is a subject considered important in this research. Three rational, emotional and intentional dimensions have been proved for the self, the mankind is a creature with a mixture of wisdom and emotion (love and thought) each of them is influential over the other one. And at the same time any of the two dimensions play an important role in moving human being (the determination) and in transcendence of the mankind.
