Baqi’ cemetery is one of the most important Islamic treasures that Muslims have historically paid attention to Although many books have been written about Baqi’, many aspects of Baqi’ still remaine unknown. The main question of this research is the cultural and civilization status of Baqi’ah from the period of the Prophet’s life until the destruction of Baqi in 1344 AH. In other words, what was the cultural and civilization function of the others during this period? This study attempts to describe and analyze the cultural and civilizational status of Baqi’ by examining various sources of hadith, jurisprudence, historical documents, therefore descriptive and multidisciplinary method have been used. The reverence of the Ahl al-Bayt and religious leaders throughout history, as well as its place in some theological teachings, such as Tawassul and blessing, are examples that show the supreme status of baqi in Muslim beliefs. The status of Baqi in the three areas of pilgrimage, burial and mourning can be traced back. Promising the pilgrimage to Baqi’, the pilgrimage route and its specific rituals, how Muslims interact with the graves, the type of pilgrims’ behavior, the pilgrimage and the presence of women in Baqi’ah, are indicators of the status of Baqi. The behavior of Muslims in the burial area is examind in the following: The burial method in Baqi’, the tendency to carry bodies from other areas to Baqi, the problems of Shiites for burial in Baqi. Mourning in Baqi’ have also been carried out mainly by Iranians in the month of Muharram.
