Shi’a scholars who have always been subject to the critique of the Salafists have themselves raised many criticisms of Salafis and their master, Ibn Taymiyya. Criticism of Salafis and Ibn Taymiyya has never been confined to the Shiites, and scholars of Sunni tradition from the same period of Ibn Taymiyya to contemporary time, has evaluated their positions and foundations of thought. The main origin of the methodological criticisms of the Sunni on the teachings of the Sunni sects is the benefits of the traditions of the Sunni scholars in relation to the Shiite critique. Recognizing, analyzing, categorizing, the methods of citing reason, hadith, constellation and consensus in each of the Sunni contemporary scholars on Ibn Taymiyya are the goal that this dissertation is seeking to investigate. This research has been conducted in a descriptive-analytical manner using the library method and referring to documents and books.
