This dissertation aims at separating the jihadist thought process from other Islamic currents and explaining the intellectual foundations, intellectual principles and components of the jihadist thought in the field of security – defense, and examines the background of the formation of this thought stream and examines its intellectual dimensions. The nature of this research is descriptive-analytical. The purpose of this research is to conduct applied and developmental research and to collect information from library type and to review books, articles, theses and so on. Explaining and separating the foundations and principles and components and characteristics of the Salafi Jihadi intellectual in the field of defense security and determining each of them is one of the findings of this thesis. Among the outputs of the research, the intellectual foundations of the Salafi jihadi-monotheism, the rejection of rationality, Zahirism , the explanation of the intellectual principles, like the principle of ruling, Jihad, takfir and blind reliance on Salaf and explanation of the components related to Jihadi Salafism like ignorance, the ruthlessness, the monopoly on legitimacy, the intellectual characteristics of the Wali and the caliphate can be pointed out. An appropriate role model to this school of thought has been explained and the co-relation of basics, principles and characteristics has been defined. Consequences of each basic, principle, and components of Jihad Salafism concerning of their security, defense, and defending strategy are also analyzed.
