Psychedelics, being a range of drugs or newly born industrial chemicals, have a direct impact on the consumer’s rational perceptions and leave various harmful personal, family and social effects. In order to tackle with thisproblem, first of all, we need to get a complete, accurate, and comprehensive understanding of the issue. Then, using jurisprudential foundations we will be able to study and analyze its declaratory and defining laws. The current dissertation while adapting an analytical and comparative method and a critical approach, deals with this important subject within the framework of the Shiite and Sunnite jurisprudence. Given the fatal impacts of psychedelics andgiven thejurisprudential reasons such as ‘the prohibition of self-infliction’, ‘the prohibition of acts that would subsequently lead to a forbidden act’, ‘cooperation in committingsin’, ‘the principal that Allah will never give the disbelievers over the believers a way [to overcome them]’, and that such drugs completely lack rational benefits, the jurists have prohibited their consumption and the consumers will have to face their proportionate penalties. Moreover, the compelling reasons that prove the prohibition of using intoxicantsare applicable to such drugs. If consumption of such drugs makes one insane or make him appear that he cannot have serious intention, his negotiation of a deal will be considered void and illegal.Given the fact that psychedelics are one of the main problems of our global societies and our current community, the governmentmust prevent the crime from being committed with preventive measures and remove its prevalence and disadvantages. In case this crime is committed, the government should putits maximum effort in maintaining the physical, mental and psychological health of the community by carrying out due penalties against all perpetrators, consumers, manufacturers, and distributing agents of such drugs. For religion has laid great emphasis on securing the comprehensive safety of community including thespiritual and mental healthall individuals.
