Editorial and Peer Review Policies
Each book published in the Publication of University of Religions and Denominations (URD) undergoes rigorous peer review by two professionals or experts in the field. URD uses an anonymous, single blind peer review process. Once a book is submitted for publication, the editor of the publication will conduct an initial review of the book. The editor will read and review the book, then seek qualified reviewers, if the editor deems the works fits the aims and scope of the publication. The editor, reserves the right to reject a book prior to peer review for various reason that deal with quality, aims and scope, attention to detail using the template, etc.
Two peer reviewers will review a book and submit a recommendation to the editor. If recommended, the editor can grant authors the opportunity to revise the book or the book is rejected, per reviewer recommendations. A final decision is made about a book after two expert reviewers have provided the editor with a recommendation. The university book council, consisting of 13 members of the university faculty, is granted the final accept or reject decision, primarily when there is a split decision between two reviewers. The process usually takes less than 90 days from submission to publication, if accepted. The time frame is highly dependent upon authors and reviewers promptness.
