{"id":1540,"date":"2022-01-01T13:54:41","date_gmt":"2022-01-01T10:24:41","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/entest.urd.ac.ir\/?page_id=1540"},"modified":"2022-01-01T13:58:04","modified_gmt":"2022-01-01T10:28:04","slug":"law-2","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/urd.ac.ir\/en\/faculties\/philosophy\/department-of-law\/law-2\/","title":{"rendered":"Law"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Doctoral program of \u201cLaw\u201d is a comprehensive educational package in line with the regulations and decisions made by the Ministry of Science, Research, and Technology of Iran. The program of Law is studied in four concentrations of public law, private law, criminal law, and international law. Law is an old field of study which was established as Jurisprudence in Islam. Currently, the Islamic society needs lawyers who are informed of the fundamentals of Islam and thus can explain the legal perspectives of Islam. These lawyers should be able to depict the Islamic judicial system through the comparative study of Islamic views and other legal systems and should prove the superiority of this legal system over other systems. This field will facilitate training such lawyers.<\/p>\n<p>The graduates of Law can both teach in educational centers and institutes for higher education, and conduct research in the areas related to the Islamic Law. They will also be able to work as advisors expert in political ideological issues.<\/p>\n<p>Holding a master\u2019s degree or an equivalent is sufficient for enrollment in this program. The previous degree of the applicant must be verified by the consulate of Iran in the issuing country. Also, matching the applicants\u2019 previous field of study with the current program is not necessary. Upon establishing the applicants\u2019 scholarly competency and the committee\u2019s agreement, the applicants are eligible to study in this program regardless of their previous field of study. Previous publications including books, research papers, and journal articles can positively influence the committee\u2019s judgment.<\/p>\n<p>The PhD program in \u201cLaw\u201d lasts for 4 years i.e., 8 academic semesters. The semesters are scheduled as follows: 4 semesters for the coursework, 1 semester for the comprehensive examination, and the last 3 semesters are dedicated to writing the thesis. The students pass the prerequisites during the first semester, followed by the core and elective courses during the upcoming semesters.<\/p>\n<p>The Doctorate program of \u201cLaw\u201d includes 42 credits, 22 credits of the core courses and 20 credits of the thesis. Among the core courses of this program are the following: \u201ccivil law\u201d, \u201cdemonstrative jurisprudence\u201d, \u201cinternational commercial law\u201d, \u201crules of Jurisprudence\u201d, \u201cprinciples of jurisprudence\u201d, \u201ccomparative labor law\u201d, \u201ctransport law\u201d, \u201cgeneral criminal law\u201d, \u201cspecific criminal law\u201d, \u201cinternational criminal law\u201d, \u201cpractical criminology\u201d, and \u201cIslamic criminal law\u201d.
