Department of Media Management

The Department of Media Management is presently the only department in the faculty of Media and Communication. The department is developing the Media Management program with focus on media industry challenges. In fact, the main purpose of this department is to train media researchers, lecturers, and advisors who, with up-to-date knowledge of media organizations, are able to study successful and unsuccessful organizations in the media industry and examine the reasons for their success or failure. The Department of Media Management seeks to teach media management from an economic management standpoint and to train creative managers through teaching of competition strategies and the management of advertising and marketing.

The Department of Media Management currently offers one major, in which the department admits both master’s and doctoral students. The chair of the department is Dr. Seyed Reza Sajjadinejad. The content and the courses in the programs offered in this department concentrate on media management studies. Topics taught here include the philosophical foundations of organizational and management theories, theories of media economics, media policy, the foundations of media management, and strategic media management.
